TK spent ten years in the classroom and then became a Principal and Principal Supervisor. One of the most significant factors that led to strong student gains and national awards was how TK and her Leadership Team prioritized their time. When the majority of their time was spent on the highest leverage practices, such as the development of teachers and building community, results were strong. Conversely, when those areas were not prioritized, gaps widened. As TK observed the direct link between adult learning and student learning, she moved over to work with a non-profit to specifically develop school leaders and their teams. There, she launched a Leadership Teams Program, utilizing a cohort model and motivating and influencing leaders to grow in their practice. Over a ten year period, TK supported over 250 schools, many of whom outperformed their peers. In January 2020, TK started TK Education Consulting to dive deeper into this work. Founded in January 2020, by Teresa Khirallah-Jackson (TK), TK Education Consulting partners with districts, non-profits, Educational Service Centers and other similar entities. We focus on leadership development to accelerate learning in schools. Our growing team currently has five employees that collectively bring decades of expertise to the work of designing, developing, facilitating and coaching on content in the areas of, but not limited to, Planning PLC meetings, data practices, effective teams, belonging in students and adults, coaching and feedback and instructional planning at the leader level.
